Shapeware Offers Visio 3.0 and Visio Technical 3.0 to Education Market

Special Pricing Available to Students, Faculty and Administrators

SEATTLE, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ — Shapeware Corp. today announced two new educational versions of Visio®, its best-selling drag and drop drawing application. Academic Visio 3.0 and Academic Visio Technical 3.0 are fully functional programs that will provide students, faculty and administrators with the ability to create drawings and diagrams without having to learn the complicated tools used by graphics specialists, designers and engineers. Both products will be offered to educational users at a special academic price that is discounted approximately 50 percent off of the products' suggested retail prices (SRPs).

"We are committed to meeting the drawing needs of users within the academic market," said Jeremy Jaech, Shapeware president. "With Academic Visio, we are enabling students and faculty in disciplines ranging from business and marketing to engineering and design to incorporate drawings easily into their everyday educational activities."

Visio 3.0 provides users with the power to communicate visually with business graphics — flowcharts, project time lines, organizational charts, network diagrams, office-space plans and more. With the product's drag and drop drawing capabilities and intuitive SmartShapes® technology, users can seamlessly add graphics to reports, memos, letters, presentations, spreadsheets and newsletters.

Visio Technical 3.0 is designed for technical professionals who are not full-time computer-aided design (CAD) users. The product provides users access to CAD drawings, as well as the ability to create and develop their own technical drawings. Users can create, review and modify scalable drawings of real-world objects, engineering schematics, network diagrams, construction plans, technical documentation and much more.

Both versions of Academic Visio are available to students, faculty and administrators at Shapeware Authorized Academic Reseller locations throughout the United States and Canada. Academic Visio 3.0 is available at an approximate academic price of $99 (SRP is $199), and Academic Visio Technical 3.0 is available at an approximate academic price of $175 (SRP is $349). To place an order or to obtain more information on the Visio Academic product line, customers can contact Shapeware at (800) 446-3335, extension 27A.
