SEATTLE, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ — Shapeware Corp. today announced that Visio® 3.0, Shapeware's best-selling drawing and diagramming software program, has attained a 99 percent satisfaction rating from its customers. This rating is based on results from a recent Market Trends study conducted to assist Shapeware in better understanding its customers' needs.
"To effectively solve our customers' problems, it's essential that we have an excellent understanding of how well our customers feel Visio meets their needs," said Jeremy Jaech, Shapeware president. "Because we constantly strive to increase the customer value we provide, it's gratifying to hear how satisfied Visio users are with the product today."
Shapeware's satisfaction rating is the outcome of a random-sample survey conducted by Market Trends of Bellevue, Wash. As part of this survey, 201 Visio users were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with the product on a scale ranging from "very satisfied" to "very dissatisfied." Results show that 89 percent of users are "very satisfied" with Visio while an additional 10 percent of users are "somewhat satisfied." The main reasons users cited for the high satisfaction rating include the value of Visio's extensive OLE functionality and intelligent SmartShapes® that, unlike clip art, are programmed to make drawing easier and more intuitive. In addition, users appreciate Visio as a complete solution that fulfills all their drawing and diagramming needs.
"Visio's satisfaction rating is the highest I have ever seen for any major software product," said Jim Minervino, president of Genesis Capital Management Inc. and former director of market research at Microsoft Corp. "Any `very satisfied' rating over 70 percent is considered excellent in this industry. Experience has shown that it's very difficult to compete against a product with a very high satisfaction rating."
Shapeware Corp., the leading drawing and diagramming software developer, was founded in October 1990 to develop and market business-graphics software for mainstream computer users.
