Microsoft chairman Bill Gates will be the keynote speaker at the Technology Alliance's first "Washington: The State of Technology" luncheon June 1, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Westin Hotel in Seattle. Other speakers include Gov. Gary Locke, Technology Alliance chair Bill Gates Sr. and Visio CEO Jeremy Jaech, who will serve as master of ceremonies. The event's theme, "Research as an Investment," will focus on the connections between research investments and the resulting outcomes including employment, useful discoveries and new technology companies.
