Antitrust review for Microsoft-Visio deal

Visio Corp. of Seattle said the Justice Department has requested information about the company's proposed acquisition by Microsoft Corp. The drawing-software company said both companies are required to supply information for the antitrust review, which Visio president Jeremy Haech said "is fairly routine in a transaction of this size." He added that "We remain optimistic that we will complete the transaction in late calendar 1999 or January 2000." Microsoft agreed in September to acquire Visio for about $1.3 billion in stock.
