SEATTLE - Despite Asian economic troubles, Visio increased its software sales in the region by more than 80 percent during the past quarter.
Those sales helped fuel first-quarter revenue for the company of roughly $37 million, up 95 percent from $19 million a year earlier.
For the quarter ended Dec. 31, Visio reported a profit of $8 million, or 26 cents a share, up 82 percent from $4.4 million, or 15 cents a share, a year earlier. That performance slightly beat consensus expectations from Wall Street analysts.
Visio stock was down $3.75 today to $42 in late trading.
