SEATTLE - Visio, a producer of diagramming and technical-drawing software, has acquired Kaspia Systems, a privately held developer of automated network-auditing software based in Beaverton, Ore.
Visio acquired Kaspia for 482,985 shares of Visio stock, valued at about $23.3 million, in the pooling-of-interests transaction. The acquisition is expected to affect profits in the next two quarters. The company said it will take a one-time charge of about $1.2 million in the quarter ending in September.
Fifteen Kaspia employees, including the entire development team, will be retained as Visio incorporates Kaspia technology into a future product, code-named Venice, which is expected to be shipped before the end of the year.
