LOS ANGELES, May 27 /PRNewswire/ — At the A/E/C SYSTEMS '99 show in Los Angeles, Visio Corp. (Nasdaq: VSIO) today announced it has entered into an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement for the United States with Eagle Point Software Corp. (Nasdaq: EGPT) for its ArchT® by Visio architectural design software product. A 16-year veteran of providing value-added CAD solutions for the AEC market, Eagle Point has agreed to market, sell and support the ArchT product to existing and future customers of ArchT, effective immediately. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"Visio is excited that ArchT will benefit from the energy and enthusiasm that Eagle Point brings to the industry," said John Forbes, vice president, technical products at Visio. "We believe that ArchT's support for both the AutoCAD and IntelliCAD® platforms matches well with Eagle Point's commitment to provide add-on products for whatever CAD engine the customer chooses. Eagle Point's proven dedication to developing value-added solutions for the AEC market will mesh well with Visio's desire to have the benefits of ArchT reach into multidiscipline design environments."

We feel that the combination of ArchT with Eagle Point's vertical expertise in serving customer requirements in the entire AEC market will help to present a clear vision for satisfying all of the needs of architectural designers."
ArchT is Visio's award-winning architectural software package for AutoCAD and IntelliCAD. An add-on product, ArchT provides AEC-specific functionality, such as 2-D production drafting utilities, style-based design features and customizable records and reports, to the underlying CAD package, such as IntelliCAD. It also provides dynamic block and layer control and 3-D design and visualization tools, and includes over 7,000 2-D and 3-D AEC-related block symbols designed to increase the productivity of architects and designers. For 1997, ArchT won both Cadalyst Magazine's "AEC Product of the Year" and CADENCE magazine's "Editor's Choice" awards; the current version, ArchT 14.5, is a 1998 winner of the CADENCE "Editor's Choice" award.
